Grill at Bibfest - April 18, 2020

JOIN OUR BABY BACK RIB COMPETITION!

We're looking for competitors to cook up their best ribs and help support the community! We'll provide the grills and ribs, you bring your BBQ skills!  Proceeds from this event will benefit our local Food Finders!  Click the link below to register, or sign up at People's Brewing Company.
  
  
What You Win:
*Winner of the Blind Judging will take home a Big Green Egg from Sandy Beach Barbeque Co!!
*Winner of the People's Choice Award will forever have their names engraved on the official People's Bibfest Cup!

Early Bird Signup (before March 1st): Entry Fee $50
Signup Deadline (April 1st): Entry Fee $75

All competitors will be provided a Large Big Green Egg and everything you need to cook for the day!!! 
   
***The Fine Print:***
Ribs will be issued between 10-11am, we would like you cook 2 racks. You have until 5pm to present 4 bones for blind judging and prepare your remaining ribs for our guests to taste (it's up to you how you present your ribs for "People's Choice", please break the meat from the bone, so more folks can try them, we will provide toothpicks for tasting).  Awards will be presented around 7pm.
  
Blind Judging:
Official Blind Judging will be a point system based on the following (each judge will be given a score card for each entry, judges will not know the team they are judging):
Flavor:1-5
Tenderness:1-5
Appearance:1-5
Overall:1-5
  
People's Choice:
Our "People's Choice" Award is a free-for-all, we will instruct folks to vote for their favorite, regardless the reason.
   
You will be provided:  Ribs, Charcoal, Smoking Wood, Fire-starters, a table space to prep, hand washing station (please, be sanitary), gloves, containers for judges and guests sampling.  Andy from Sandy Beach Barbecue, will be on site to answer questions about the Big Green Egg.  
  
You will need: A plan, seasonings, tongs/tools/etc. for handling your ribs, camp or folding chair(s) (if desired), foil, etc.
